This event is a National Championship and Series Race Meeting, promoted by the South Canterbury Car Club Inc at Levels Raceway, Timaru.

The Meeting will be held under these Supplementary Regulations, the MotorSport NZ National Sporting Code and its Appendices and Schedules particularly Appendix Four, Schedule Z being the Standing Regulations for all Race Meetings and Appendix Two, Schedule A – Driver and Vehicle Safety Requirements and for Clubman’s Saloons where necessary for pre 1978 cars, Schedule K, T&C or Cr compliance with Appendix Six Schedule AA, and the relevant championship or Sanctioned Series regulations pertaining to that class.

South Canterbury Car Club Gold Membership – FREE
South Canterbury Car Club Competing Membership:- $30-00 per hour (real/clock time counted from when a competitor signs in) or $70-00 for a half day (3 hours) or $130 for a full day (6 hours)
Membership of other approved clubs - $100-00 for a half day (3 hours) or $180 for a full day

Sessions

Morning session – 3 hours 9-00a.m. – 12.00p.m. approx.
Afternoon session – 3 hours 1-00p.m. – 4-00p.m. approx.

All prices include GST and are subject to change without notice.

Contact the Office on arrival at the circuit - an indemnity form must be signed and the appropriate fee paid, prior to going out onto the circuit.

History

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS…

The South Canterbury Car Club Inc was formed in 1947 running hillclimbs and paddock events. The club progressed from this to running the Waimate 50 Street Race on the streets of Waimate until 1966. In 1967 a street event was run in Timaru in the Craigie Avenue area. Land was purchased at Falvey Road and a permanent 1.6km circuit built. The first event was held in November of that same year.

The club continued to develop this venue running club and National Championship racing. In 1988 it was decided that it was time to move up a level and increase the length of the circuit and develop it up to the international standard that it is today. The circuit is now licenced to FIA category 3 which allows the club to run international events as well as National Championships including the NZ Touring Cars and Super Truck Racing.
